  • CCC Game review by Instructor Joe Alford Saturdays After the Scholastic Tournament Season CCC will be hosting Open Tournament with Adult and Scholastic sections.
  • Farmers Market & Street Chess
    Starting May 19th CCC will set up at the Bloomington downtown Farmers Market to promote chess at the farmers market. It will be an opportunity for students to play the public and get pick up games. 3000 – 5000 people come through every weekend.  Street Chess - chess simual at Decatur Celebration, Apple and Pork Festival, and Sweet Corn and Blues festival. If it is nice out CCC will have boards out daily for drop in side walk chess.

  • Monthly Scholastic Tournaments - I will be Planning 1 Scholastic Chess tournament per month. The first Saturday of every month I will host a scholastic tournament. USCF Rated Game 30 / 4 Round - With a target size of about 60-80 kids per tournament. I may include a playing section for adults non-rated to play other adults at the same time with trophies for the top player/parent score. I maybe be using the McLean County court house for this event. Tentative Tournament Dates May 3rd, June 7th, July 5th, August 2nd, Sept 6th,
  • Adult Tournaments - I will be Planning 1 Adult Chess tournament per month. The second Saturday of every month I will host a small adult tournament. With a target size of about 12-14 adults per tournament. Lunch included. Scholastic Players with ratings above 800 maybe be able to play if there is a lack of adult players.  Tentative Tournament Dates  June 14th, July 12th, August 9nd, Sept 13th
